Did you know that alpacas can also be knighted? Much to the delight of those in attendance at the 2005 Renaissance Faire (Salem City-Roanoke County location) Angus of Argyll and Snowman stood in line patiently waiting for Her Grace to acknowledge them. Angus, of course, was most insistent that he go first! The long awaited moment came when Her Grace asked his handler "By sword or by hand?" It was quickly decided the honor would be bestowed by sword.
"Angus of Argyll" the queen began. Just as his name was spoken, Angus knelt before the queen and bowed his head! After a moment the queen was able to continue - how we cannot imagine. Unfortunately for his handlers, Angus - please excuse - SIR Angus continues to expect them to bow or curtsy in his presence....
